First Day of School 2011

Well, it's finally here. The first day of school. This year Logan starts 2nd Grade and Miss Alaina starts Kindergarten. CANNOT believe I now have 2 kids in school! Craziness!

Alaina's first day of Kindergarten. She got super lucky this year and has my sister-in-law, Debbie, for her teacher. I am so happy that she has Debbie. It made it so much easier for her going to school. She was excited to see her Aunt Debbie, aka Mrs. Christensen, and there wasn't any apprehension at all about going. I know she will have lots of fun, do well, and make lots of friends. She is such an outgoing girl and will have no trouble at all making friends.




Logan is a big 2nd Grader this year, and has Mrs. Suitter. Found out today that his best friend is also in his class, so I am happy for him. This will be a big year for him as his reading and math skills have really improved. I can't wait to see the progress that he will make this year. He was very excited about going to school and not the least bit nervous. Can't wait to hear how the first day went.

T-Ball 2011

Logan played T-Ball this year and had so much fun doing it. His team name was "The Hot Tamales". We signed him up through the YMCA and it was great because he had both boys and girls on his team. It was hilarious watching the kids because at first they didn't knowing what base to run to, couldn't hit the ball very well, couldn't throw or catch, and all the kids all collapse on the ball once it was hit out into the field. He learned a lot in the couple of months that he played over the summer and it was amazing to see how much he improved from week to week. He really grew a lot over the summer.

He is excited about playing baseball next summer!

Alaina's 5th Birthday

Cannot believe my daughter is 5 and going to start Kindergarten this year! She is growing so much and it's great to see the person she is becoming. She is still very much my little princess and hope she stays that way for a long time.















Sadly, her birthday was also the last day of school for Logan. We had to wait until he was done to celebrate. We went to see Kung Fu Panda 2 and out to eat at her favorite place, RED ROBIN. She had a great day!

Finally we got our family pictures done. It has only been 2 1/2 years since we really had them done. Amazing to see how much we have all changed. Garrett and I have been together now for 10 years (time has flown by SO fast!), and we have been mararied for almost 9! Poor Will has been fighting a bad cold and was feeling miserable the day of pictures. Not to mention he is SUPER shy around strangers and wasn't sure how to take the photographer. Needless to say we have many sad faced pictures of Will, but I tried to find the best of the bunch.

Alaina's Dance Recital 2011

We have nicknamed Alaina our little tip-toe girl because she walks on her toes all the time. She has AMAZING muscle tone in her calves and ankles already from doing this. She also loves to dance so when we found out that she was able to get a spot with Jill Searle's dance I was THRILLED! Jill is the best dance teacher ever, and the sweetest lady. I actually took dancing from her too for about 15 years. This has been a really good year for Alaina. She has grown up so much and it has been so much fun to watch her. She made some new friends and was excited to have her cousin Jaidyn in her class too. She did a great job in her recital. At the rehearsal she was a little scared being on the stage, seeing all the people and not really knowing what was going on as this was her first time.....but on recital night she had none of those fears. She did great! She is so excited for next year!

April Fool's Day - A Murder on the Grill Murder Mystery Birthday Party

April Fool's Day 2011, which happens to have also been Garrett's Birthday. We celebrated his day by having a Murder Mystery Party. It was Murder on the Grill. Here are our list of suspects:


Ivan Spudnik, the recently defected Russian Rocket Scientist. Garrett had a blast playing this character and had us all laughing so hard. If you have seen "Despicable Me", Garrett was a perfect imitation of Gru! It was an excellent choice for him!

Miss Tiara Diamond, the newly crowned Miss Kansas City and Johnny Angel, our version of THE FONZ! Adam and Brenda were so great!


Our dazzling blonde, Ms. Barby Q and the famous rock musician Chubby Cheddar. It was so much fun having DJ and Somer there.

Logan turns 7

Happy Birthday Logan! Can't believe he is 7 years old already!! He is loving first grade and doing really well. Some of his favorite things right now are: Star Wars (of course this is likely never to change), GI Joe, Transformers, playing with his friends, jumping on the trampoline, and mastering his lightsaber moves. He LOVES peanut butter, pizza, and Dr. Pepper. He is so tenderhearted and I hope that never changes.








Logan had his birthday party at Leo's and got to spend the day with his two best friends: Tyson and Ian. They had so much fun together. It was such a good day!





Of course anyone who knows my son is not at all surprised by his wanting a Star Wars cake!
